The suspense is building as we get closer to Drake’s new album “Views From The 6”. On Tuesday Drake released two singles to give us a taste of his long-awaited fourth studio album. One Dance features Wizkid & Kyla. Pop Style features The Throne which is a collaboration between Jay Z and Kanye West who’s debut album “Watch the Throne” (2011) immediately took the top spot on US Billboard 200.
Tonight a projection appeared on the side of the Royal Opera House in London’s Covenant Garden. Though it first appeared to be album artwork, a U.K. representative for Island Records confirmed with Fader that it is simply a teaser to keep the impending album release on our minds. “Views From The 6” is set to release at the end of the month.
“The 6 is Toronto”, Drizzy’s hometown. Nobody seems to know for sure what The 6 means. It may refer to the two main area codes, 416 and 647 or to the creation of the modern version of the City of Toronto which was formed in 1998 by combining six boroughs. Back in March 2014, with the hashtag #JimmyPrimeNamedIt, Drake gave credit for the name to fellow Toronto rapper, Jimmy Prime.
To support his new release Drake showed some love to The 6 with the 6 God Collection under his clothing label October’s Very Own. Nike Canada also restocked the Jordan x OVO collection recently as well.
OVO and Canada Goose have collaborated to design top quality jackets that handle some seriously wet weather. This Saturday on April 9th they will release a new Spring line at Barney’s and Canada Goose.
